Find BIM elements instantly by entering names, types, or IDs.
Desktop Only
Quick Search is currently only available on desktop devices.
Open Quick Search
Keyboard Shortcut: Press F on the keyboard to open Quick Search.
Alternative: Click on Search in the toolbar (if available).
Usage
- Start typing
- Live Filtering: Results appear immediately as you type
- Navigate through results with arrow keys
- Press Enter to select and focus the element
Searched Fields:
- Element Name - e.g., "External Wall GF 001"
- IFC Type - e.g., "IfcWall", "IfcDoor"
- GlobalId - Unique element ID

You'll see relevant results after just 2-3 characters.

What Happens on Selection
When you select an element:
- Element is highlighted in orange in the viewer
- Camera flies to position
- Properties panel opens
- Quick Search closes automatically
Multi-Selection
Ctrl + Click on additional results for multi-selection.
Tips
Substring Search
"Wall" finds "External Wall", "Internal Wall", "Fire Wall". Case-insensitive.
IFC Type Search
"IfcWall" finds all walls, "IfcDoor" finds all doors.
GlobalId for Exact Search
GlobalIds are unique - ideal for inspection reports and precise identification.
