Real-time Collaboration
Work simultaneously with other users on the same project.
Live Updates
BIM AVA synchronizes changes in real-time:
- Project changes - Renaming, deletion
- Model updates - New uploads, status changes
- Cost positions - New positions, edits
- Folder structure - Reorganization
How It Works
- You open a project
- A colleague opens the same project
- Changes are automatically displayed for both
- No manual reload required
Presence Display
In the top bar you see:
- Connection status - Green dot = connected and synchronized
- Active users - Avatars of colleagues in the same project
- User count - Number of users working simultaneously
User Avatars
Each user has an avatar with initials:
Your avatar:
- Shows your initials (e.g., "JD" for John Doe)
- Color coded
Colleague avatars (stacked):
- Appear next to your avatar when in the same project
- Show colleague's initials
- Hover shows full username
Conflict Handling
When editing simultaneously:
- The last change wins
- Changes are transmitted immediately
- No manual merging needed
Communication
Coordinate with colleagues on critical changes to avoid conflicts.
Connection Status
| Symbol | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🟢 Green | Connected, updates active |
| 🟡 Yellow | Connection being established |
| 🔴 Red | Disconnected, updates paused |
On Connection Loss
- The system automatically tries to reconnect
- Pending changes are synchronized after reconnection
- For longer disconnections: reload the page
Collision Progress
For running collision checks:
- All users see the progress
- Results are synchronized after completion
- No duplicate execution needed
Tips
Large Teams
With many simultaneous users, the display can become cluttered. Use Annotations for spatial coordination directly in the model.
Offline Work
If connection problems occur, continue working locally. Changes are synchronized upon reconnection.
