Import/Export

Import and export bills of quantities in various formats.

GAEB Import

  1. Click on "Import"
  2. Select a GAEB XML file (X83, X84, X86)
  3. The positions are imported automatically

Supported Formats

  • X83 - Tender
  • X84 - Price inquiry
  • X86 - Price determination

Lot Recognition

Positions with 2-digit codes (e.g. "01", "02") are automatically imported as Lots at the top level.

Import Behavior

  • Hierarchy is preserved
  • Codes are transferred
  • Prices are imported (if present)
  • Long text is transferred
  • Units are mapped

Existing Positions

The import adds positions without deleting existing ones. If you want to create an empty BOQ, delete all positions first.

GAEB Export

  1. Click on "Export"
  2. Select the format:
    • X81 - Cost estimate
    • X82 - Service description
    • X83 - Standard tender (recommended)
    • X84 - Price inquiry
    • X86 - Price determination
  3. Select the GAEB version:
    • GAEB DA XML 3.2 - Standard version (recommended)
    • GAEB DA XML 3.3 - Latest version with extended features
  4. Select the export options:
    • Short text show/hide
    • Long text show/hide
    • Prices show/hide
    • Embed BIM GUIDs (GAEB 3.3 only)
  5. The file is downloaded

GAEB 3.3 Features (New!)

GAEB DA XML version 3.3 offers additional features:

  • BIM-GUID Export - IFC GlobalIds are embedded in the XML export
  • Element References - Direct linking to BIM elements
  • Extended Metadata - Additional project information

GAEB 3.3 Compatibility

Not all AVA programs support GAEB 3.3. Check the compatibility of your target software before exporting.

Export Options

Short text:

  • Check With short text - Complete BOQ
  • Uncheck Without short text - Only structure and long text

Long text:

  • Check With long text - Detailed descriptions
  • Uncheck Without long text - Only short text

Prices:

  • Check With prices - For calculation
  • Uncheck Without prices - For tender

PDF Export

Create professional PDF documents:

  1. Click on "Export"
  2. Select "PDF" as format
  3. Optional: Click on the Database icon next to PDF:
    • Select a custom PDF template
    • Or use the default template (fallback)
  4. Configure the export options:
    • Short text / Long text
    • Show prices
    • Show BIM quantities
    • Show empty quantities
  5. Click on "Export PDF"

Custom PDF templates allow:

  • Company logo integration
  • Corporate design customization
  • Header/footer definition
  • Table layout customization

Default Template

The database icon only appears when custom PDF templates have been created. Without selection, the default template is used.

BIM Quantities in Export

GAEB Export with BIM Quantities

  • BIM quantities are exported as comments
  • Format: <!-- BIM: {Quantity} {Unit} -->
  • Not all GAEB tools support these comments

PDF Export with BIM Quantities

  • Separate BIM column in the table
  • Shows automatically determined quantities
  • Comparison with manual quantities possible

Saving Export Settings

Your export settings are saved:

  • Last format is preselected
  • Options are saved per project
  • PDF template is remembered

Error Handling

If the export fails:

  1. Check the console for error messages
  2. Check for invalid characters in code or short text
  3. Ensure all required fields are filled
  4. Try a smaller data scope (only partial areas)

Large BOQs

For very large bills of quantities (>1000 positions), the PDF export may take a few seconds. Please wait until the download starts.
