Keyboard Shortcuts for Cost Estimation
Keyboard shortcuts for efficient work in the Bill of Quantities (CostingDrawer).
Prerequisite
Keyboard shortcuts work when the BOQ area is focused. Click once in the BOQ area to set focus.
Navigation

↓ | Select next item |
↑ | Select previous item |
→ | Expand group / Navigate into group |
← | Collapse group / Navigate to parent group |
Home | Jump to first item |
End | Jump to last item |
Selection & Details
| Key | Function |

Enter | Select item and open detail overlay |
Esc | Close detail overlay |
Batch Selection
| Key | Function |
|---|---|
Ctrl + Click on group | Select/deselect group and all sub-positions |
Ctrl + Click on position | Add position to multi-selection |
Shift + Click | Select range between last and current selection |
Group Selection
With Ctrl + Click on a group, you can quickly select all contained positions for batch operations (e.g., for deleting, moving, or linking multiple positions at once).
Inline Editing
When editing values directly in the list:

Arrow Key Navigation
Right Arrow (→)
- On a collapsed group: Expands the group
- On an expanded group: Jumps to the first child element
- On a leaf node (position): No action
Left Arrow (←)
- On an expanded group: Collapses the group
- On a child element: Jumps to the parent group
- At the top level: No action
Tips
Quick Navigation
Use Home and End to quickly jump to the beginning or end of the Bill of Quantities.
Explore Hierarchy
Use → and ← to efficiently navigate through the BOQ structure without using the mouse.
Detail Overlay
Press Enter to open the detail overlay for the current item. There you can edit quantities, units, and prices.
