Navigation in the 3D Viewer
The xeokit-based 3D viewer enables you to view and analyze BIM models.
Toolbar
The floating toolbar provides access to important viewer functions:
Panel Controls
- Explorer - Show/hide model structure
- Properties - Show/hide properties panel
Tools
- Selection - Standard selection mode
- Tool Menu - Opens tool dropdown:
- Measure - Measure distances
- Coordinates - Measure coordinates
- Section Plane - Cut through model
- Eraser - Hide by click
- Show All - Show all elements
- Fit All - Fit camera to entire model
Move Toolbar
Grab the drag handle and move the toolbar via drag & drop.View Modes
Orbit Mode (Default)
Rotate the model around a center point:

Keyboard Shortcuts for Navigation

Selection
Single Selection
Click on an element to select it. The element will be:
- Highlighted in color
- Marked in Explorer
- Displayed in Properties panel
Multi-Selection
Ctrl+ Click - Add/remove element from selectionCtrl+ Drag - Rectangle selection (Marquee)Ctrl+A- Select all visible elementsX- Clear selection
Visibility
Control which elements are displayed:

Reset (R) | Reset view |

Explorer Panel
The Explorer panel on the left shows the model structure:

- ... and more IFC types
Operation
- Click triangle - Expand/collapse category
- Click name - Highlight element in viewer
- Eye icon - Toggle visibility
- Checkbox - Multi-selection
Properties Panel
The right panel shows details of the selected element:
- Name - Component designation
- Type - IFC classification
- GlobalId - Unique identifier
- Geometry - Area, volume (if available)
- Psets - Property sets with additional attributes
Tips
Lost in the Model?
Press R to show all elements and reset the view.
Quick Search
Press F to open search. Search for names, types, or GlobalIds.
